S2N Technology Group, LLC "Puts the Brains Inside" Children's National Medical Center's new East Wing Expansion
CNMC Couples world-class technology integration and installation with world-class pediatric healthcare in their new East Wing, scheduled for completion in August 2007
December 15, 2006, Bethesda, Maryland – S2N Technology Group, LLC (S2N), a technology service provider specializing in consulting, design/build, and ongoing service provision for systems implemented as part of new construction, announced today that it surpassed the “50%” milestone in their contract to manage the integration and implementation of an extensive list of low-voltage technologies for the newest wing of Washington’s premier pediatric specialty hospital.
S2N was awarded the contract to provide the technology installation in March of 2006, and began work immediately. Working as a subcontractor to Clark Construction, S2N’s responsibilities include consolidating the installation of structured wiring (voice, data, and video cable), access control, CCTV, cabling for wireless telemetry, public address system, nurse call, infrared and radio frequency personnel & asset tracking, as well as various audiovisual applications. S2N anticipates completion in August of 2007.
Founded in 2004 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clark Construction Group, LLC, S2N’s charter is to provide a one-stop design/build/service to facilitate the implementation of technology into new construction. In a typical hospital, hotel, condominium/apartment, or commercial office building, the types of technology installed might include:
- Outside Plant
- Voice/Data/Video Wiring Design and Installation
- Wireless access points (for public or private use)
- Internet Backhaul
- Video Service
- Security Systems (Including Access Control and CCTV)
- Audiovisual (Projectors, motorized screens, small-format theaters,
digital signage, etc.) - Building Automation
On a typical construction job, these technologies would be implemented by 5 or more different vendors, operating independently, installing parallel wiring and standalone systems.
“S2N brings an innovative approach to an industry not necessarily known for living on the bleeding edge of technology development. Our mission is to consolidate ALL of our customers’ technology discussions into a single point of contact,” said Dave Golden, S2N’s Executive Vice President. He continued, “By competitively bidding work to a network of trusted industry players, S2N ensures the best possible installation value, and we drive down cost by eliminating redundant wiring and systems.”
S2N’s Project Managers have a unique combination of construction and technology experience, and contribute on a variety of levels to the overall success of a building project, even in support of unrelated trades where they have prior experience.
