The Project

The new LACMA Building for the Permanent Collection that will replace four deteriorating buildings with one 347,500-square-foot structure, representing a bold new vision for how art museums can connect and engage with visitors. The project will feature 110,000 square feet of gallery space in one single level to display and present art in a non-hierarchical, egalitarian way. LACMA’s iconic “Urban Light” and “Levitated Mass” installations, as well as BCAM, Resnick Pavilion, and the Pavilion for Japanese Art, will remain untouched.

As part of the new building, S2N is performing early coordination of Structured Cabling, Access Control, CCTV, and intercoms to ensure pathways and other infrastructure are properly planned and ahead of building construction. During construction S2N will manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of these systems.
