The Project

S2N provided preconstruction and implementation services for the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, DC.

Occupying the last available space on the National Mall, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC) features exhibition spaces as well as a centerpiece venue for ceremonies and performances. The museum’ defining exterior feature is a bronze and glass-panel façade which serves as a representation of traditional African architecture.

In partnership with our minority business enterprise (MBE) trade partner, S2N oversaw the installation of structured cabling scope of work. S2N’s scope of work also included installing complex audiovisual systems including multiple micro-tile video walls, large high-definition flat-screen displays, and video conferencing capabilities in the museum’s office space, the electronic security systems, and distributed antenna system.
