The Project

S2N provided consulting services for the Long Beach Civic Center in Long Beach, California.

The Long Beach Civic Center (LBCC) is a multi-faceted development that encompasses a new city hall and civic chambers, a headquarters for the Port of Long Beach, and a public library. Located in the city’s urban core, the state-of-the-art development encompasses more than 600,000square feet divided among four structures and spread across several city blocks.

The Long Beach Civic Center was delivered under an innovative public-private partnership, utilizing a design-build-finance-operate-maintain (DBFOM) contract, which enabled the construction and long-term maintenance of the Civic Center in exchange for land that will be privately developed.

S2N oversaw the installation of technologies including structured cabling, overhead paging, and internet protocol (IP) television as well as audio-visual, electronic security, distributed antenna, and synchronized clocks.
